Learners have 3 attempts to pass each module and each module can be viewed an unlimited number of times prior to completing the assessments.

Who it is not intended for
The Working Safely course is not aimed at managers or supervisors who are responsible for managing health and safety within teams. Those individuals are generally better suited to the IOSH Managing Safely course, which covers risk management, legal responsibilities, incident investigation, and performance monitoring in greater depth.
Course overview
This course covers all aspects of Working Safely. It highlights the importance of Health and Safety with hard-hitting statistics and explores workers' rights and key terminology.
The course covers injury and illness, recognising potential workplace hazards, and explains how and why incidents are reported. It discusses the responsibilities of an organisation with regards to Health and Safety and goes on to talk about accident investigation, health surveillance and health monitoring to ensure the safety of everyone in a working environment.

Assessment
The assessment consists of two parts:
Part A – Multiple-choice test

20 questions.

Assesses knowledge from all three course modules.

Learners must achieve the required pass mark set by IOSH to successfully complete this element.
Part B – Practical Risk Identification Assessment

Learners are presented with a workplace scene (typically a photograph or image).
-
They are required to identify a number of hazards within the scene.
-
For each hazard identified, they should explain:

What the hazard is.
-
Who could be harmed.
-
What the potential consequences are.
-
Appropriate control measures to reduce the risk.
-

This assessment demonstrates that the learner can apply the knowledge gained during the course in a practical workplace situation.
Results are immediate; however, certificates can take 4-6 weeks to arrive from IOSH.
