NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (Salisbury)

Timings for the delivery of the course will be from 09:00 to @ 16:00 daily; a lunch break and a number of short refreshment breaks will be included throughout the day.

This qualification is designed for people working in construction, civil engineering, utilities, facilities, broadcasting, property management and more. It is particularly suitable for managers, supervisors, principal designers and principal contractors who require the right level of skills and know-how to fulfil their health and safety responsibilities.


Learning Outcomes

For some, the National Construction Certificate can be a crucial first step towards establishing a lifelong professional career in the field of occupational health and safety within their chosen industry. Many who take the National Construction Certificate progress on to one of our Diploma level qualifications. Many health and safety diploma holders also want to take this qualification to broaden their knowledge of construction health and safety risks and controls.


Synopsis of Course Syllabus

Aligned to CDM regulations, NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction are guided by legislation but focussed on best practices. The broad syllabus includes:


• CDM roles and responsibilities • Health and safety culture • Assessing risk • Managing change • Excavation • Demolition • Mobile plant and vehicles • Working at height • Musculoskeletal health • Work equipment • Electricity • Fire • Chemical and biological agents • Physical and psychological health


Assessment

The assessment is an open book examination (OBE), which will be based on a realistic scenario, that will test both what you know and what you can do. You will be asked to carry out a series of tasks using evidence from the scenario and the underpinning knowledge gained through your studies and revision. You will have 48 hours to download, complete and submit your assessment.

Unfortunately, as the classroom is located on the first floor and with no lift facility, delegates with certain physical impairments may find it access challenging.

Timings for the delivery of the course will be from 09:00 to approximately 16:00 daily; a lunch break and several short refreshment breaks will be included throughout the day. Please try to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time each day.


Lunch and Refreshments

Delegates can bring their own food and drinks with them should they choose to do so, there is also a shared kitchen on the premises with a microwave oven and refrigerator.
